Curriculum

While we are primarily a play-based school, yet we set up the environment and provide children with materials in a very intentional manner that promotes collaboration, creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Children learn best through play and in a child centered, nurturing, inviting, and stimulating learning environment.

At Magical Minds Child Development Center, our curriculum is inspired by a combination of Maria Montessori and Reggio Emilia. We let children guide our curriculum with their interests and ideas and provide children with the environment, open-ended materials and scaffolding needed for them to confidently and independently explore their surroundings, develop their skills, and expand their knowledge about the world around them.

We follow a daily schedule and routines. This is an important element in a child's development, both at home and at school. Children learn best in a predictable environment where they know the routine and what to expect on a daily basis. Please refer to the daily schedule tab for details.

We will work on a wide range of activities, games, arts/crafts, music & movement, and much more. We will work on long term studies, based on children's interests and topics relevant to their every day lives (such as seasonally inspired themes) and activities/games/crafts will be created to support these topics of interest.

At Magical Minds, we value and embrace diversity and inclusion. We will celebrate all holidays and important events that represent each family in our community (including birthdays).

We also work on kindergarten preparedness and will meet the individual needs of each child, supporting all developmental milestones, in all areas of development. We will observe and document their growth/development and support them based on their abilities and needs.

Please reach out if you have further questions about our curriculum or program.
